I had a question about computer networking that I couldn't get a clear answer on.?
I have a computer in my house with a router and modem. I bought a new computer and instead of connecting to router wirelessly I wanted to just buy a second router and modem for the new computer, and connect directly to the cable from the wall. Would this cause any sort of problem or cause the second computer to have a weaker internet signal than the main computer in the house?I know that sometimes not all the rooms in a house get the same signal strength from the cable in the wall. That there is usually a master bedroom and living room with the strongest connection and other ones are just meant for cable TV and not playing internet games.

If I have a bachelor's in humanities, a associates from a tech community college in computer networking?

my husband is having trouble connecting our computer. Here is his question, for all you computer nerds out there...Here's the hardware setup cable modem > router1 > router2 > meboth routers have wireless. router 1 has several computers connecting to it through lan and wlan. router 2 will have a pc and a wireless laptop. the problem is that when trying to connect we're getting ip conflicts and then no one is getting internet. we've tried assigning router 2 a different ip address but then we cant connect anymore.help?by " computer nerds" I didn't mean to offend anyone. I am one myself and so is my husband. I meant to say it in a " fellow computer nerd" way. haha..

I have a laptop running windows 7 Home and have two desktop computers running XP Home. I am having troubling connecting them. I cannot share files and printers. How can I network these computers?I can connect one computer but not the other one. My laptop sees the desktop that I can't connect to but I get an error message when I try to access the shared docs.

This is our mini project work.First the sender sends a data packet after connection establishment .then receiver sends an ACK acknowledgment .but suppose the ACK is lost ,then sender has to resend the data packet again.Assume the sender is delaying the retransmission of the packet resulting in unnecessary increase in the connection costs.For this retransmission we want to fix a timer as a data structure after it ticks to zero should do terminate the connection.PLS SUGGEST SOME TOOL OR SOFTWARE OR SOME IDEA TO IMPLEMENT THIS.THANKS when ACK is lost from receiver the sender waits for the ROUND TRIP TIME and then has to resend the packet.

Computer Networking Trouble?
I have 3 Computers as well as an XBOX 360 and a WD TV HD Box currently in my home network through a D Link DIR 601 Wireless Router.Computer 1 BDRMLPTP3 Wireless Computer 2 BDRMPC1 Wired Computer 3 MEDIASERVER Wired Computer 1 and 2 can connect to each other but not to computer 3. Computer 3 can connect to computer 1 and computer 2. whenever computer 1 or 2 try and connect to computer 3 it comes up " Windows cannot access MEDIASERVER you do not have permission to access MEDIASERVER" Advanced Sharing Settings are identical as far as i see for the 3 computersI can use remote access to connect with computer 3 with no issue.all computers are running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. Usernames and passwords are the same for all computers
