Can Open source software be used for corporate use?
Hello all. I was wondering if open source software can be used for corporate use. Does anyone know if there are any limitations? I am sending a request list of some open source software to the IT help desk for the corporation I work for to approve, but they mentioned that I needed to make sure it was okay for corporate use first. That seemed to imply that not all open source software was available for corporate use but would be for the user. Anyone know for sure?

Are open source software a bless or a risk?
hi all i was thinking about getting a substance of which to study saying what are the benefits disadvantages of them but this is not my problem i think that if X is an open source software that everyone can contribute in and develop and Y as well then the risk well be no competition in going forward towards development and ppl well hold still where they are ok as a client i can get whatever i wont and enjoy the benefits of things just being free of charge but i cant manage to use all the free because i am fed with my needs and defensibly it's no use using X,Y together because i'll be using one machine in most cases even a network

For windows, that is. I think open source software is pretty interesting, and I want to see what's out there, but I'd like a site that shows you a bunch of different programs to choose from. MercuriIt doesn't have to be open source, but there are loads of programs out there that are " free" yet might be pirated, or filled with viruses, or just trials....so I prefer open source.

Software development requires much knowledge and work. I wonder why useful software such as Mozilla, and VideoLAN are made free for download. Many free software tend to be very good indeed. I'm not against free software, though. I also benefit from them.
